Indian Cooking Class -01

 

Our long love affair with Indian food began when Australian’s travelled through India in the 60’s and 70’s. Since then, we’ve come a long way from the “classic” Keen’s curry powder sparingly sprinkled into beef stew. We now have a fast growing appreciation for authentic Indian food and its regional variations, and are beginning to unravel that incredibly vibrant world in our own kitchens. This Indian cooking class will delve into the fundamentals of Indian cooking, unlocking the secrets of that elusive ‘special something’ found in truly authentic Indian.

All served on traditional banana leaf

fragrant green masala, Australian prawns (gf)

classic aloo masala (gf)

southern fried free-range chicken pakora (gf)

poriyal (fresh coconut and green bean fry) (gf)

moong dal sambar (gf)

fried papadom, sella basmati rice (gf)

cashew and saffron mango lassi (gf)

"We did the Southern Indian Cooking Class last night. It was one of the best classes I’ve been to. A good balance between demo’s, hands-on, group and individual work -whether beginner or more experienced. The presenters were ever helpful and friendly with a great depth of knowledge. Salt & Co. COVID19 arrival procedure:

When you arrive to your cooking class, your phone – if you choose to use it for photos etc during class – can be sanitised with the help of one of our team members. From there, any other other personal items that you don’t need with you during the cooking stage of the class can be set down in the Dining Hall as per usual. Upon entering the kitchen space head directly to a hand wash station and give your hands a thorough wash. We also ask that if anyone is feeling any cold or flu like symptoms at the time of entering the venue to please not enter the venue. We are applying this to ALL people entering our venue; customers, our team and all services.
