Salt & Company – Corporate & Private Event Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all private and corporate group bookings made with Salt & Company. By booking and/or paying for an event, you agree to these terms.

1. Booking & Payment

• A 30% deposit or full payment is required to secure your booking.
• Full payment must be received no later than 7 days prior to the event date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of payment and written confirmation from Salt & Company.

2. Minimum Numbers & Charges

• A minimum charge equivalent to 12 participants applies to all private events held Monday to Saturday.
• If fewer than 12 guests attend, the minimum charge still applies.
• Maximum group size is 44 unless otherwise agreed.

3. Dietary Requirements

• Dietary requirements must be advised in writing at least 7 days before the event.
• While we make every effort to accommodate dietary needs, some menus are not suitable for certain allergies or dietary preferences. Clients are responsible for reviewing menu suitability.

4. Rescheduling & Transfers

• One date change is permitted free of charge, provided it is requested with more than 21 days’ notice.
• Additional date changes will incur a class transfer fee of $15 per person.
• For events rescheduled with less than 21 days’ notice:
  • A minimum transfer fee of $300 applies for events scheduled Monday to Thursday.
  • A minimum transfer fee of $500 applies for events scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.
  • In all cases, if the calculated per-person fee exceeds the applicable minimum, the higher amount will be charged.
• These transfer fees reflect the lost opportunity cost of holding a prime session time which may no longer be bookable by other groups.
• All rescheduled dates are subject to availability and must be agreed in writing.

5. Cancellations by Client

• Cancellations made:
  • More than 21 days prior: refund issued less any reasonable costs incurred (e.g., planning, ingredients, third-party services).
  • Between 21 and 7 days: 50% of the total event fee is non-refundable.
  • Within 7 days: no refund provided.
• Alternatively, the client may transfer the booking to another group or team (written notice required).

6. Repeated Rescheduling

• If multiple changes are requested and the event cannot be finalised within a reasonable timeframe, Salt & Company reserves the right to withdraw from delivering the event.
• In such cases, a full refund will be offered less any administrative, planning, or unrecoverable costs already incurred.
• All terms relating to rescheduling and cancellation (including notice periods and applicable transfer fees) remain in effect and apply to each subsequent change.

7. Cancellation by Salt & Company

• In the unlikely event Salt & Company must cancel a confirmed event (e.g., due to illness, force majeure, or venue unavailability), a full refund will be provided.
• Salt & Company accepts no liability for any additional costs incurred by the client (e.g., travel, accommodation, lost time).

8. Behaviour & Safety

• Clients and their guests must conduct themselves respectfully. Salt & Company reserves the right to remove any guest whose behaviour is disruptive, offensive, or unsafe.
• Participation in cooking activities carries inherent risks. By attending, all guests accept those risks and release Salt & Company from liability for injury or damages, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Alcohol Policy

• All events are BYO with no corkage fee. Reasonable consumption is expected.
• We encourage guests to arrange alternative transport if consuming alcohol. Excessive drinking or intoxication during class is not permitted.

10. Acceptance of Terms

• By booking or paying for an event, you confirm you have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
• Salt & Company reserves the right to update or amend these terms. The version in effect at the time of booking will apply.
